Is Pregnancy Possible After First Time Unprotected Intercourse?

I had sex for the first time Saturday and he said I was fine and that there was no chance of pregnancy, and I trusted him, but I wanted to be protected for the future and got the Depo shot on Monday afternoon. I am worried that since I got the shot after the unprotected sex that it will not stop me from being pregnant. but I heard that it will prevent the egg from implantation. I think I m just afraid because it was my first time but I really just need comfort in the fact that I m not pregnant

Hello,

If you got the shot within the first seven days after the start of your period, you were protected from pregnancy immediately. Otherwise, you needed to use a backup birth control method for the first week after getting the shot too.

If your partner ejaculated in your vagina, you have to take immediate emergency contraception to avoid the risk of pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
