Is Pregnancy Possible After Hysterectomy?

Hi, I am 62 and had a hysterectomy years ago but kept my fallopian tubes. Last year I miscarried, not realizing I was pregnant. I think I might be pregnant again. It feels all the world like quickening as before. What can I do to help avoid a miscarriage?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hysterectomy means that the uterus was removed.

The uterus is required for a successful pregnancy. In the absence of a uterus where a fetus can implant and grow, pregnancy cannot occur.
In addition, at age 62, menopause would have likely occurred.

This means that it is not likely you are pregnant. If you wish to determine if this is the case, your doctor can do an ultrasound for you.

I hope this helps
