Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a tubal ligation done for 2 yrs now. I missed my period this month but had all the symptoms as if i were on my period. I took a pregnancy test two weeks after i was suspose to come on my period and it shows negative. what else can would wrong or could i still be pregnant.
According to your history tubal ligation is done 2 years back and now you missed your periods.
See ectooic pregnancy is a complication associated with tubal ligation procedure but your Urine pregnancy test is negative so most probably you are not pregnant.
In such cases I usually recommend Thyroid function test and ultrasonography of abdomen and to find out the cause of missed period.
Treatment is according to cause.
Hence I would suggest you to visit your gynaecologist for further evaluation and management.
Thank you
Regards, Dr.Om
