Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! I have had seven healthy children and I am now 48 years old. I had a tubes tied 10 years ago after my youngest child's birth which was a C section. I had my tubes cut and burned. I have now missed 2 periods and I just wan to know is there any way a woman can get pregnant after having her tubes tied?
Pregnancy is possible in which the body can actually allow the tubes to grow back together, healing and repairing themselves. But chance of pregnancy is high in first 10 years after tubal ligation. I would suggest to go for urine pregnancy tests and or blood HCG test to confirm pregnancy.
If pregnancy test will come negative then missed period could be due to perimenopausal state, hormonal imbalance. Avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water, do regular exercise.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
