Is Pregnancy Possible By Having Unprotected Sex After 4 Days Of Having Depo Shot?

Hello, I m not sure if this is your specialty or not but anyways I recently got the depo birth control shot last Friday which also happened to be the first day I of my menstraul cycle. I had unprotected sex on Tuesday, 4 days after getting the shot. I m not sure if I should take an emergency contraceptive pill or not because I most likely wouldn t start ovulating until May 25th in which case the sperm would probably be dead or the birth control will have already kicked in preventing an egg from being released. Do you think that I should take an emergency contraceptive pill or am I just being paranoid? I also have only one day left to take the pill and my BMI is slightly over 25 so I m not sure if it would even be necessary for me to take it.

Hi,

If you get the Depo-Provera birth-control shot within first seven days of start of your menstrual period, you are immediately protected against pregnancy. Hence, in my opinion, you should not be concerned about pregnancy after having an unprotected sex during this period.
