Is Pregnancy Possible By Missing A Single Birth Control Pill?
Hi, I m on birth control. Marvelon 28, I take 2 packs worth and then get my period. So I get my period every second month. I was on the end of my first pack when I realized I had missed a pill somewhere. It would have happened the week before but I hadn t noticed and just kept taking the pills regularly until I noticed I d missed one. So then I took the pill I d missed, and then the pill I was supposed to take that day at my regular time. I was just wondering if this is a big deal and are my chances of getting pregnant a lot higher? I ve been on the pill for 8 years.
Although this is not very likely, it is, however, possible that pregnancy occurs so you had one risky intercourse and if this happened during your ovulation period it is possible that pregnancy occur, but considering your description of it, this risk is minor.
To be sure you should do pregnancy test which can be done when period is missed or 8 days after the targeted intercourse so at this point it would be accurate enough to detect possible pregnancy.
Standard urine test would be enough for it since this is almost 99% accurate.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
