General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Gynaecosid does not have emergency contraceptive property... so it will not prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. It would induce period due to other causes than pregnancy. Now as you have already taken the pills wait patiently for bleeding upto 8-10 days after taking the pills. If you get a period... go for iud /oral contraceptive for regular contraception. In case you don't get bleeding, you are pregnant &need removal of pregnancy to avoid bad effects of Gynaecosid on growing baby. Thanks.
