Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I Pill Post Unprotected Sex?

Hello doctor, This is B. Prusty with an sexual health issue came here for your suggestion. So the thing is that, I had unprotected sex with my bf on 10th of april and took an i-pill(ECP) the next day on 11th april. After somedays... say 4-5days, had rough sex(protected) which resulted in bleeding, on the very same day had unprotected sex(believeing on pull-out method). I should be getting my periods on 17-18th of april. But there s no sign of it till now. Am scared of unwanted pregnancy and that bleeding. Can you please help me with this? If any more details you need to help me out, please let me know. Thanks.

Dear patient
I pill has failure rate of 1 percent. I pill should be taken within 72 hours of exposure and in recommended dose. So if both things are not taken care of failure tate may increase. I would advise you to go for urine pregnancy test. Test kits are available over the counter and shows results within minutes. Second option is ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis. So get this done. If pregnancy test Is negative you need not to worry. If report is positive you need to consult expert gynecologist and get yourself examined. Never have unprotected sex. Use of condom has advantage of not only preventing pregnancy but also from std. All the best.
