Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my last period on 22nd nov .Next month I had unprotected sex (2nd week of dec),then I took I-pill within 6-7hrs ..bt m still nt hving periods ..it hs been 13 days since I missed my period dates ..I even took pregnancy test thrice all were positive ..is it because of I-pill or m I actually pregnant ??
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Yes pregnancy is possible despite taking I-pill. I-pill is an emergency pill which prevents pregnancy by inhibiting implantation of fertilized egg on the uterus. It is 95% successful if taken within 24 hours of having sex. But its your bad luck that you had failure, even taking within 6-7 hours of having sex. As your pregnancy tests are positive, your are pregnant. Taking i-pill cannot cause false positive pregnancy test. Also your periods are delayed, therefore you are most definitely pregnant. Now if you does not want to continue your pregnancy, you should consult a gynaecologist & can undergo an abortion under her guidance
Refer to a gynaecologist
Hope this information helps
