Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

hello doctor, my ques. is i had sex on 2nd june and took i pill with in 12 hours condom leaked and after few days (8-9 days) i had my periods but now its next month & there is no sign of periods till now...and i m so worried and tensed...(my periods are always on time) plz tell what is the reason behind late period?

Thank you for posting your questions at HCM.

Its common to have delayed/early period for 3 months after taking i-pill. i-pill is nothing but hormones, it alters the normal physiological cycle leading to increase in some hormones which bring your periods.

Its very unlikely that you will be pregnant now, if you already have had your periods. But in case your periods are delayed by more than 15 days, we always suggest such patients to do a UPT to be sure.

By the way, do not worry, as once you have had your period, chances are the ovum, even if fertilised got flushed and there is very minimal chance of you being pregnant at this stage.
