Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I Pill?

Hi me and my husband have unprotected sex every alternate day. After which I consume I pill to avoid pregnancy. But 3 days back I had sex with my husband and same evening I had periods only spotting but next day it stopped and also I had i pill.Day before yesterday I we again had sex and again I had my periods but till now I didn t had I pill. I wanted to know if i can pregnant ?

Emergency contraceptive pills are effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. I pill is most effective when taken immediately after unprotected intercourse. Efficacy declines as time elapses between sex and drug administration. But it is reasonably effective for up to 120 hours and perhaps longer. However, you should remember that it is more effective the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex. The effectiveness varies from 52% and 94%. That means, it is not 100% effective, and pregnancy is possible even after its proper and timely use. Anyway, if pregnancy occurs even after its use, you have another option of legal abortion. Get done pregnancy test to confirm this.
