Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had unprotected sex this morning. Took I pill four hours after having sex. I am taking meptrate 10mg twice a day, starting the same day for next five days to induce periods as I have PCOD. Is it safe to take I pill and meptrate together. What are the chances of pregnancy in this case. Thanks
Hello dear I understand your concern There is no need to take the I pill as you are already on the meprate. Meprate itself act as a contraception till you are on it. But if you have taken already I pill, it cause hormonal imbalance. Period may be earlier/ delayed by 8-10 days and excessive bleeding will occur. Chance of pregnancy is less as you dis sex in the safe period of cycle and use both I pill and meprate. Avoid stress, take healthy diet, proper rest, drink plenty of water. Hope this may help you
