Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor-2 After Having Unsafe Sex?

I had sex with my bf (protected) but he put it in without condom once tho he didn t ejaculate. So I got worried and drank a postinor 2(first tablet) and after about 4 hours we had sex again but unprotected and he used the pull out method which was why I drank the other postinor 2.IIs there still chances of me getting pregnant?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
No chances of pregnancy are very less after intake of postinor 2 following unprotected intercourse. Actually postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill & prevents pregnancy by inhibiting implantation of fertilized egg on to uterus. An emergency contraceptive is 95% effective, if it is taken within 24 hours of sex.
As you have taken postinor 2 within 24 hours of sexual intercourse, you should relax now. There are only 5% chances of pregnancy in you. Your next periods may also be delayed due to action of postinor 2.
An emergency contraceptive like postinor 2 should not be used as regular method of contraception. Regular intake of emergency contraceptive pill could cause irregular & delayed periods, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & other harmful effects including infertility. Next time use regular contraceptive pill or condoms for prevention of unwanted pregnancy.

Refer to your gynaecologist

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum.
I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician I would like to tell you that you have taken the pills within 12 hours of the unprotected intercourse and you need not to worry about a thing of getting pregnant. You are absolutely safe.

I would also suggest that you should use a regular contraceptive like OC Pills or condoms and use Postinor 2 contraceptive only in absolute emergency as they contain high levels of hormones which may affect your body.

Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question.
Have a nice Day.

Regards,
Dr.Abhijeet
