Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor 2 After Intercourse?

Good evening Please i had unprotected sex and i took morning after pills called postinor 2 after 2 hours. I took the complete dose of two tablets but i later bought another pack and took a third dose. I ll like to know if it will prevent conception and also if the extra dose will affect me. I still have the remaining tablet should i take it.. I m really scared and i don t know what to do please give me a reply

I understand your concern.

Two doses of postinor2 tablet(12 hours apart) taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex is the recommended regimen.
There is no need of third tablet unless vomiting occurs within 3 hours of taking the pill.
Possibility of pregnancy is decreased depending on how earlier you start the regimen following intercourse.Within 72 hours,the possibility of pregnancy is only 1-2% as per the literature.

Intrauterine device can be used upto 5 days following intercourse as emergency contraception.

What you can do now is wait for your next periods.Report if they become late than expected date or you get lower abdominal pain.
