Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor 2 After Unprotected Intercourse?

I accidentally took 2 pills of Postinor 2 immediately after 3 hours of unprotected sex..(March 6th) I had my last period starting on the 28th feb ..finished on the 2nd march,had unprotected sex in 6th March...after 5days of taking it (11th March ..I have been experiencing light bleeding ) please help me I really don t want to get pregnant.

Hello,

First of all, the day on which you have unprotected intercourse has less chances of getting pregnancy. Chances increases during second half of menstrual cycle.

Postinor 2 is used for emergency contraception, although you took accidentally it will work as emergency contraceptive medication.

Bleeding usually occurs 3 to 7 days of taking Postinor 2, so it is withdrawal bleeding and nothing to worry. As bleeding has occurred there is rare chance of getting pregnant.

For confirmation, you can wait for next menstrual cycle or can have pregnancy test after 10-15 days. Or you can confirm it by ultrasound abdomen after 2 weeks.
