Hi I m 21 I took the prostinor 2 pill 26 hours after the condom broke. I m worried cause the sperms spilled at the entrance of my vagina and I was due to see my period on the 29 of July but now its 4 days late and I m worried I might be pregnant. I m feeling cramps and lower back pain. Please help
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Postinor-2 Tablets is a brand of medicine containing the active ingredients levonorgestrel. It is an emergency contraceptive pill, which needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Earlier you take it, the protection seems to be better. Since you have taken it by 26 hours, it should be fair enough to offer protection against you becoming pregnant. I understand that your periods have been delayed. Don't be worried, as you need to get your periods within 3 weeks from the day you have consumed the pill. In case it doesn't happen, then you need to seek medical help immediately. Since you are experiencing some of the pre-menstrual symptoms like cramps and low back pain, you should get your periods shortly. So relax and wait till it happens. All the best.
