Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Primolut N?

I have the implanon and it caused heavy bleeding for some time. I took primolout n to prevent this bleeding and while on the medication i had unprotected sex. The day after the unprotected sex i stopped takimg the primolout and got my usual heavy period the day after. Could i still be pregnant?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Implanon is a contraceptive implant. Heavy and irregular bleeding is the side effect of Implanon usage. This bleeding is more evident for first year of implantation and such bleeding is automatically controlled in 3 months. Anyways, in case if Implanon was on all the time, then there would be no chance of conception with sex in reference. Primolut N had no role in the protection with temporary intake.
