I had unprotected sex with husband but after one hour I took ipill. Now tested 2 times urin pregnancy test which is still negative. Plzzzzzzz suggest me some medicine to start my delayed periods which is held on 22 april.and the expected date was 22 may but still not come.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. From your description, it appears that you need to understand certain things. 1. i-pill is an emergency contraceptive pill. To prevent pregnancy, such pill needs to be taken as early as possible following unprotected intercourse, but can be taken within 72 hours. The pill would prevent pregnancy from happening by causing withdrawal bleeding anytime within 3 weeks from the day of its intake. Hence, the regular schedule of your period dates can change accordingly. Your periods can either advance or postpone based on the intake of i-pill. 2. Pregnancy test will come positive in urine only when taken after a week to ten days following a missed period. It will not come positive when taken immediately following or few days after having intercourse. In case you do not get bleeding by 3 weeks, then you need to take urine pregnancy test and seek medical attention promptly. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
