Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pill?
Hi I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend last dec 11 after my lmp on dec 4. I took 4 pills right away after the comdom broke and another 4 pills after 12 hrs of unprotected sex. I still didn't use PT and I'm so scared of what will be the result. Pls tell me if I have a chance to get pregnant. Thank you

No Chances of pregnancy despite taking emergency contraceptive pill are very less & intake of emergency pill post unprotected sex should avoid pregnancy. Emergency contraceptive pill like unwanted 72 work by preventing implantation of fertilized egg on uterus. It should be taken as early as possible. It is 95% successful if taken within 24 hours . However intake of only one pill is advised. You have already taken 8 pills.
Pregnancy test is not required. It should be done if you miss your next period.
Use condom or regular contraceptive pill as method of conception in future. Taking more emergency contraceptive pills can cause problems like irregular periods, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & even infertility.
