Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pills After Intercourse?
yesterday I had a protected sex but at the beginning my boyfriend penis touches outside of my vagina and there is a possibility that he had pre-ejuculate. 3 hours later I used 4LD pills and I should take another 4 pills in 12 hours later but I felt nauseous so I didn’t complete my emergency cycle. Also he didn’t ejuculate more than 6 days so the possibility of live sperm in his precum was low. But I wanted to know how much should I be worried about pregnancy? Is it that much rare that I shouldn’t worry more than 1%?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
According to history provided you have use the protection during sexual intercourse and there was only exposure to precum fluid but let me know you that pre ejaculate fluid also can contain live sperm. But in the history you have mentioned that you have used pills and so if you have taken emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hour of pregnancy then chances of pregnancy are very less. You can wait for your next period if your next period is delayed for a week than urine HCG card test can be done to rule out pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
