Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Morning After Pill?

Hello, two days ago I had sex with my boyfriend and he did ejaculate inside of me, right after we went to take the morning after pill. I havent had many secondary effects, only some nosebleeds and a headache I m really worried if I can be pregnant. I wanted to know how efective the pill is if I took it 30 minutes after intercourse, and what else I could do to prevent pregnancy. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The morning after pill has a protection rate against pregnancy of up to 90%. So, there is still a chance of 1 in 10 to become pregnant even if you used the morning-after pill.

You seem to have used it quite early and as it should so what you can do now is to wait and see if your periods will happen normally or not. If your periods are later than usual please have a pregnancy test.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
