Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Pregnancy Possible Despite The Pregnancy Test Being Negative?
Hi I was due to have my period on the 1st July (which happened) but it was not as heavy as my normal periods and a few days I have gone a whole day with no bleeding, and when I do have bleeding it is hardly anything and not enough to really warrant using a tampon, this has gone on for 7 days now (The last couple of days has been more like a discharge) I have taken pregnancy tests but they come back negative. I had a blood test done at the doctors on Monday and that came back negative. Do you think I could be pregnant as I feel like I am?
If the BHCG blood test came out negative then it is unlikely you are pregnant. This is a highly sensitive test and becomes positive quite early (a few days before missing a period).
In your case, the light bleeding you had could be the periods of this month and there is nothing to worry about.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
