Is Pregnancy Possible Upon Irregular Usage Of Gestofol Pill?

Hi Dr. I m taking gestodiol30 pill from months. Everyday for 21 days at 7.45pm This months happened that on my last one pill-free day I had a sexual approach, the day after started a new cycle. I ve taken qst 2nd and 3th pill regulary. I missed the 4th and taken it within 18 hours. Go on with other pills. My doubt is : am I on risk for the rapport I had on the last day of pill-free period? Thx

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Conception happens within a couple of days of intercourse, so it is less likely you are at risk of pregnancy days later. Also, a single delay of fewer than 24 hours does not increase much the risk for pregnancy compared to using the pills regularly.

On the other hand, contraceptive pills do not offer 100% protection against pregnancy. So, if your periods are late this month please have a urinary pregnancy test.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
