Is Pregnancy Possible While On Althea Pills?
Hi good day, I have just taken Althea pills on the 7th day of my cycle. The last drop of my period was on the 7th, my partner and i had sex on the 8th day, the 1st ejaculation was withdrawal but for the 2nd was just on the opening of my vagina, am I still safe? It s already 65hrs since the deed, i still continue the althea pills at same time. Should I double the dose of my althea pills to prevent pregnancy? Or should I take the nordette as ecp? Thanks a lot.

Hi,
Doubling the dose would not prevent pregnancy and is not advisable to do so. You can take emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hours to prevent pregnancy.
It is advised to use additional means of contraception like condoms and spermicidal agents during the first 3 weeks after starting oral contraceptive pill.
