Is Pregnancy Possible While On Microgynon Pills?

Hello, i was 5 days into my pack of Microgynon (COC pill) when i had unprotected sex. He did not ejaculate inside me, but we did have intercourse subsequently and I m afraid incase there was residual sperm there. I missed my pill on the night that this took place. I took Levonelle the next day (within 12 hours). Can you reassure me that i should be covered against unwanted pregnancy? I am aware i have to use barrier methods for the next 4 weeks. Thank you

Hi,

You have taken an emergency contraceptive pill after unprotected intercourse. It is very effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

So you need not worry about getting pregnant.

But still very minor risk can be there and if your next period is delayed than rule it out by urine hCG card test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
