Is Pregnancy Possible While On Birth Control Pills?

Hi Dr. It s my first time taking pills and i am taking micropil for about 5 days now. I started taking the pill on the 5th day of my period as instructed on the manual. My last menstruation was on The 7th day, my husband and i had sex 2 days after my menstruation, however after we make love there was a small amount of blood that was from me. Is it normal? Or should i stop taking the pill?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Birth control pills are generally very effected especially when well taken even though not at 100% .Side effects and failure rate in novices have been noted to occur but your system is supposed to get used to the pills in a few months.Spotting after sex may not be a side effect of this drug, but irregular menses and at time inter-menstrual bleeding may be noted.Traumatic sex may also cause bleeding post sex.It may not be a cause for concern yet.Just observe and get more lubricated next time before sex. You may however see your Doctor if the problem becomes recurrent.
Hope this will help
Best regards
