Is Pregnancy Possible While Suffering From PCOS?

I suffer from pcos. Have been on birth control since I was in high school because I never had a period on my own. Iam now 25 also take metformin. I do see an endrocoligist anyway. I had my period July 11, first day. I had ran out of birth control pills but though nothing of it because my endrocoligist said it would be difficult if not I,possible to concieve on my own. Anyway i found out I was pregnant the first week if September. They seen a gestional sack n the following week a baby n a heart beat of 126. Iam due May 1st 2017. By calculations that means I conceived August 8th. How can that be is my period was July 11. With pcos can you not have a period and still ovulate? Iam just confused on dates and the how/when it happened. Both my husband and I are happy. Any idea how that happened. Can you explaine it? I go for a point net October 6

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

PCOS creates a hormone disbalance which causes your period to be late or absent.
Most of the cycles are unovulatory (without egg production) but it is possible to have even ovulatory cycles when egg is produced and you can concieve.
So you had long cycle but ovulatory when egg was produced.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
