Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I missed a month of my birth control due to switching insurance companies. During that time I was with a guy and there was no penetration but we were both in undies and he came which made my panties wet. Now, I m a day late on my period. Is there any chance I m pregnant? Obviously with any sexual encounter there is a slight chance of pregnancy but is there any legitimate worry?
getting pregnant requires that the sperm comes into contact with the ova. It may only happen during a 6 day period in each cycle. It also means that sperm has to enter the vagina, the cervix and the uterus. Sometimes this is hard to achieve even with normal penetration. Taking this only into account reduces your chances of being pregnant to almost zero.
Besides that, missing only one pill is not supposed to cause ovulation, most of the times. Missing more pills gets you into danger though.
So in conclusion, you don't have to worry about it, I've never read about a case of pregnancy that occurred this way. If you'd like to be absolutely certain you can try a pregnancy test.
I hope I've helped! Kind Regards!
