Is Pregnancy Safe In A Woman With A Hole In The Cervix?
I was told i have a hole in my cevix by the Tennova health care center and the said it was serious that i should take plenty of water and take it easy im 18 weeks pregnant and they said it could cause me to lose my baby i went to my Ob doctor the very next day her name is Dr.Shannnon and all she did was use the dobbler and listen to the babies heart beat and said the baby is fine i was thinking i might need a second opinion what should i do?

1. possibly it is 'weakened cervix' or cervical incompetence which means that during pregnancy as the baby grows and it gets heavier it presses on the cervix which may cause it to open before the baby is born leading to a miscarriage or premature delivery and since you are in the IInd Trimester [18 weeks] thus incompetent cervix is the common cause so you should get a second opinion regarding the same.
2. A cervical stitch [cervical cerclage] is often used in the treatment of cervical weakness but since the procedure itself is not complication free [risk of infection/bleeding is there] so consult a good OB doctor [since this measure can be put into place between 14-16 weeks and maximum up to 24 weeks]
3. have regular appointment with the doctor at the ante natal clinic to check that you are doing well
