Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a valve replacement on 2-14-17 and am sick with what seems to be a flu type symptom. My doctor prescribed me some antibiotics and then switched the antibiotic to Amoxicillin 875mg. I m experiencing some type of pressure in my heart area. Could it be this Amoxicillin doing this?
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that amoxycillin can cause gastritis as a side effect in some individuals. The pressure you are experiencing may be because of that. I would advise you to take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole with amoxycillin to avoid it. If you are still not relieved I would advise you to consult your physician for change of antibiotic. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
