Is Prolapsed Uterus And Bladder Drop The Reason For Excessive Urination?

Yes my gyno says I have a prolapse uterus and my bladder has slightly drop too, Is that why I go to to bathroom a lot? I don t leak or hurt when I go I just go a lot frequency is my problem, she said that I should consider a hysterectomy to fix my problem, would it also fix my drop bladder if i get a hysterectomy?

Hello
Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have increased frequency of urination and prolapse of the uterus with cystocele.

Whenever there is cystocele the bladder is not emptied completely during micturition and some amount of urine remains in the bladder what is called as post void residual urine .This residual urine is predisposing factor for getting UTI and cause for frequent urination.

Your Dr has rightly advised you to get Hysterectomy done .The cystocele is repaired during the surgery which will help to reduce the frequency of urination.
