Is Prolonged Bleeding Post Intake Of Medical Abortion Pills A Cause For Concern?

Good day, I took the medical abortion pills close to a month ago and am still experience light bleeding. It comes and goes and varies with intensity. I returned to the healthcare provider that administered the abortion and according to the ultrasound my womb was clean but the blood pregnancy test was still positive, all pregnancy symptoms are gone. I was 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant at the time of the abortion and did not expect to bleed out this long as it was an early pregnancy. Is it normal to still bleed? Or should I go for an internal examination?

hello,
i can understand your concern.
you need not worry about the bleeding.
it is normal for a woman to bleed for 4 to 5 6 weeks after an abortion.
this bleeding is initially high at the time of abortion and slowly reduces over a period of time. blood test showing positive pregnancy is not significant, as the hcg levels which is done to test pregnancy takes time to come down.
periods will also take two to three cycles to regularise.
so,donot worry.
take a balanced healthy diet rich in iron.
