Is Prolonged Intake Of Femilon Harmful?

Hi doctor Now,i m 24 years old .I m taking femilon tablet for last 4years with doctor prescription.if I stop taking femilon .I won t get periods normally.And my doctor said Like ,I have to take this tablet for life long.i m getting afraid about this ..so can you please tell me the better solution.it will be very helpful to me . please

Hi,

In case you are not married¬ involved in a sexual relationship. I feel you can omit the pills & don't expect periods. Rather than having withdrawal bleeding life long.

There are few side effects of the drug like digestive problems, bloating/breast tenderness/swelling on feet, weight gain/ irregular vaginal bleedings of the pill.

so in my opinion ..you can give atrial of omitting the pill under the guidance of your treating doctor/keep reviewing the basic problem & avoid unnecessary intake of hormones.
