Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare Magic.Probably your child has congenital hypothyroidism. In this condition the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroxine hormone so it has be given in the form of tablet for normal growth and development of the body and brain. So it is safe and it must be given regularly and lifelong. She needs blood test few times a year which helps to adjust the dose of thyroxine.
Take care.
