Is Prostatitis In A 25 Year Old A Cause For Concern?
My Son went to the Dr for prostatitis (sp?). They gave him a shot and antibiotics. He is 25 years old and was told this is common in 20-30 year olds. Can you tell me what this diagnosis is, what we should be watching for with respect to is he feeling better or worst case scenerio and what should he be doing to follow up.

if it can be diagnosed then proper treatment can be advised. pro static smear should be stained with metheline blue to rule out gnocchi infection in that case penicillin is the drug of choice. better to give long acting penicillin like penidure la 12 can be given. after observing the result further advise can be given. std test can be done.
