Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of stool examination is as follows: The physical characters- color, consistency and pH are within normal limits.
Presence of pus cells in stools is suggestive of infection, inflammatory bowel disease, abscess or fistula. However, infection is the most common possibility in a child. Absence of fat globules, occult blood, mucus and red blood cells in stool rules out all other disorders like absorption or bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
