Is Rabies Injection Needed After Prophylaxix On Monkey Attack On A Lady?
my brother's wife was suddenly jumped over by a monkey yesterday, she had a scartch on lower part of leg and echymosis but no cut, by claw. She took a bath with dettol soap after that , had tetanus injection. what else should she do? Is rabies post exposure prophylaxix required?

Yes rabies vaccination is advised. Monkeys are one of the common cause of rabies in rural india. Kindly consult a nearby physician for the vaccine. Anti rabies antibodies might not be necessary but as early as possible get her vaccinated as rabies is a horrible disease with nearly 100% fatality. Why take the risk.
