Is Rash On Neck And Black Spot Due To Allergic Reaction?

Hi, I am a 32 year old female. About two weeks ago, I had an unexplained rash on my neck, over my adam s apple region. It took a few days to disappear and now it has reappeared faintly in two areas on my neck and there is also a black spot over a tiny bump. Could this be an allergic reaction?

Hello,

It could be dermatitis / eczematous rash. The allergic or eczematous rash is usually itchy.

If so, I suggest you use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g either mometasone furoate or triamcinolone acetonide cream twice daily.

In addition to that, you may take an oral antihistamine e.g cetirizine tablet once a day for symptomatic relief from itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
