Is Recurring Shooting Pain In The Throat Post A Mole Removal A Concern?

On Thursday, my doctor removed a mole from the throat area of my neck. The area has been kept clean and covered with an antibiotic and band aid. The area is soar, but from seeing pictures of others, and info from my doctor, I don t think it s infected. My question is it normal to have an occasional shooting pain to the area, it feels like a needle going into the center?

Hello,

It could be an inflammatory pain.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

You can do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
