Is Red Blotches On His Cheeks And Nose An Allergic Reaction To Adhd Medicine?

My foster son age 13, has AD/HD his pediatrician put him on Strattera 25mg on 03/21/14..Until today no problems. He was outside playing in the sun, we just noticed red blotches on his cheeks and nose. Is it an allergic reaction from the medication? Or can it be from being in the direct sunlight while on the medication?

Hi, thanks for asking.
The ADHD medications do not have the side effect of increasing the photo sensitivity. Also the allergic reactions to drugs are not this late. In my opinion your son must have developed sun burns. Apply calamine lotion over it. If not better consult a skin specialist.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
