Is Regular Monthly Menstruation After An Exploratory Abdominal Surgery Normal?

I am 54 and had exploritory abdominal surgery last July. I had been in menopause for over 3 years at that time. I had somthing like a menstral cycle 3 times in the next 3 months, then they seemed to stop. Now 8 months later I am again having something just like a regular menstral cycle. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Can you mention why the surgery was done? Any uterine bleeding after attaining menopause need evaluation. Kindly discuss with your OBGYN. You may be asked for an ultrasound and endometrial biopsy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
