My wife aged 60 has got small posterior wall fibroid measuring 1.2x1 cm and fundal suberosal fibroid messuring 1.2x1.2 cm. She is menopaused. she is hypertensive with the pressure reading 110/70. She is not diabetic. her LDL is 158 mg%. VLDL is 22mg%. Triglycerides 110mg%. Total cholestrol is 220mg% Is it advisable to remove the fibroids? Should she opt for removing her uterus, ovary etc?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Noted you have two small fibroids...
You are menopaused , so it should be regressed with time....
Fibroid is because of estrogenic stimulation...
In menopause estrogen less ..so fibroid can be resolved....

If you are asymptomatic then no need for removal...
Mostly it is accedently identified while doing USG for other reason or during routine checkup....
Regular follow up done....

If fibroid leading vaginal bleeding or any other serious complication then needs removal....

Your cholesterol is borderline....
Take low fat food....junk food kept limited...
Regular follow up report done.

Consult gynecologist for it...

Take care....
