Is Removal Of Vaginal Tape Advisable While Having Severe Pain?
Female patient, aged about 60 years, undergone TVT some 8 years back. Then about 2 years back she developed some problems for which the tape was released - during the release procedure the tape was cut in the middle how ever the tape would remain on both sides. As she is having more pain now - the doctor has recommended to remove the tape since he feels it would be touching one of nerves - please advise if it would be the right decision?
Hi, Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here . I have gone through your question , and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options .
1 ) I will suggest you to get a cysoscopy done, before taking any decisions regarding the tape.
2 ) Even removal of the tape should be guided with cysoscopy.
