Is Repetition Of Anti-rabies Vaccination Required For A Repeated Dog Scratch?
i was scratched/bitten by my dog last 2014, i was vaccinated with anti rabies 3 times even though the dog was ok and showing no signs of rabies..this year, i was scratch by a stray puppy that i rescued, for the benefit of a doubt i want to an animal cite center and was vaccinated only 2 times, 2 days after i got my last dose of anti rabies i got scratch again by a stray puppy..should i get vaccinated again? thank you for the reply
Hello! I have been through your question. Related your concern I think you shouldn't be worry because based on your history you are previously vaccinated and your body almost has anticorps to protect from rabies. Usually it is recommended that people who have been previously vaccinated or are receiving preexposure vaccination for rabies should receive only vaccine (1 each on days 0§ and 3)if you don't know if the dog is vaccinated or not . During this time you should wash the scratch with water and soap, use local antiseptic, talk with a doctor to see if you need anti tetanus serum or not (if you aren't vaccinated). I hope my answer help you. I wish a quick recovery. br>
