Is Retaining Implanon Post Due Date For Removal A Cause For Concern?

I have been incarcerated for almost 2 years... The implanon implant that I have is going on 2 years old and I haven t had a period in almost a whole year.. I m waiting on my insurance company to get everything worked out but as it stands I do not have 400 bucks to pay to remove it. Are there going to be long term affects from this? Is this why I m not having my cycle?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with loss of menses for a year following an insertion of implanon that is due date I will suggest yes it is a case for concern reason because it is cause a hormone inbalance thus leading to amenorrhea (lack of menses)

In view of this I will suggest you see gynecologist specialist for possible removal of the implant and further Councelling on the next contraceptive method

I hope this helps Regards
