Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Right Abdominal Pain On Alcohol Intake Suggestive Of Liver Problem?
Dear Sir, I have pain in my right upper abdominal normally the pain occur while i having alcohol.Since last one month i am not having alcohol and now i doesn t have pain. Doctor is the pain is related to liver? kindly advise me for the further tests if required.
Age, gender, any associated symptoms or medical illness, etc not mentioned. Suggestive of gall bladder disease. Based on history you seem to be suffering from gall bladder disease.
Right upper abdominal pain could also be due to gastritis, pancreatitis, or other liver diseases which gets aggravated following drinking alcohol.
I advise you to consult your doctor for an abdominal ultrasound and liver function tests to find out the exact cause and meanwhile avoid consuming alcohol.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
