I have a tooth abscess and before the dentist will go in to fix it he put me on amoxicillin. However, I have been taking this medication for nearly two weeks now and the infection seems to be getting worse. my friend suggested I ask about Rocephin for this type of infection. Would Rocephin work for my abscess?
Prolonged intake of antibiotics is not appreciated. Rocephin is not necessary as it acts on the same organisms as penicillin.
I suggest you to take amoxicillin and metronidazole for 5 days. Also take Neutrolin B plus before food for 5 days (as you are already on antibiotics for long). Take a OTC painkiller if necessary.
Get the treatment done as early as possible.
Regards.
