Is Sepsis Contagious?

How hard is it to catch SEPSIS? My mother (92 yrs) was being treated for UTI and C-DIFF. The hospital changed treatments to treating her for SEPSIS. In general I had a plastic cover over arms and groves. One of the times in which I did not have protective clothes, I was in contact with her arm and head. I in turn washed my hands. Another time I would touch her with groves and then touch my knee are pants, touch my head. I never touch any body fluids. I also, have grandchildren I do not want to inflect. Dewey

Dear sepsis is a syndrome of body response towards the specific organisam. sepsis itself is not contagious. The organisam that cause sepsis may be contagious.

infection most commonly spread through respiratory droplets or skin contact.

Streptococcus coccus, klebsella or pseudomonas or ecoli or bacteriodis are the causative for nosocomial infection.

So I think good immunity people there is less chances of contamination.But diarrhea, pneumonia may can spread to healthy people.
