Is Severe Coughing Post An Angioplasty Procedure A Cause For Concern?

Hi Doctor, My father got breathing issue. I got admitted him in hospital. Due to blocks in heart I gone for angioplasty. After 2 days discharge he got heavy cough. Now it is little bit coming down. Just want to check do I need to consult again doctor or it is a normal symtem after angioplasty?.

Yes, you should definitely get this checked.
Severe coughing is not seen after angioplasty in routine scenario.
So if patient develops sever coughing then we should rule out lung infection, bronchitis and pulmonary edema as all these can cause similar kind coughing.
So you should definitely take him to doctor and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray.
Don't worry, he will be alright with appropriate treatment. But first diagnose him.
