Is Severe Head Pressure After Driving A Concern?

After driving for an hour, I got out of car and felt an overwhelming pressure sensation mostly on left side of head going from the base of head moving to top of head. The left ear felt full and uncomfortable. Also felt pressure behind left eye. I was still able to walk into the store and function normally. It was alarming should I be overly concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possibility of alteration in the internal ear pressure system or cochlea due to wind entry while driving most likely.

An evaluation with an ENT specialist is recommended for the primary workup and get further directions.

Till that time, keeping a cotton plug in the ear and avoiding exposure to high wind, cold weather is most appreciable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
